IN PURSUIT OF TRIVIA
----------------------
Compiled by Simon Plumbe
--------------------------
Back for a second attempt at answering your weird and extravagant questions
on TREK (if any of you actually bother to send some in!). Don't forget to
send your questions in, which will be answered by our team of "resident
Trekkers" - Simon Plumbe, Colin Gunn and Tobias Richter.
QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
---------------------
There weren't any! Send some in for Issue 3!
OTHER TRIVIA
--------------
* Did you know that, according to the writer's guide written by Gene
Roddenberry, Data is supposed to be white!
* James Doohan is missing the middle finger of his right hand? I presume he
lost it in World War II. If you look closely on some of the older episodes
you may be able to see it. In the majority of episodes, they managed to
hide his hand or use a body double for the hand-inserts. Imagine the scene,
Scotty is operating the transporter and the scene is supposed to change to
his hands. The director yells, "Cut... call in the stunt hands!". If you
watch the scene in STAR TREK V where Uhura brings Scotty the meal on the
Enterprise you can see his hand quite clearly. That's why in all of the
publicity photos etc. James Doohan tries to make sure that his hand isn't
visible. Just look at the photo of him in the Convention Slideshow to prove
my point!
* "Family" is the only episode so far from both the original series and THE
NEXT GENERATION that doesn't have a scene set on the bridge of the
Enterprise!
* We haven't been able to verify this, but as far as I am aware, Brent Spiner
played one of the Borg in "Q Who?"!!! Can anyone vouch for this?
* Which three STAR TREK characters have appeared on THREE different
Enterprises? Give up? McCoy, Chekov and Uhura. McCoy was on the NCC 1701,
1701-A and 1701-D while Chekov and Uhura have been on the NCC 1701, 1701-A
and the U.S. Naval Vessel Enterprise!
Anyone else got any questions? Send them to the usual address!
